Global Technology Engineering & Architecture:
Ensures applications are built with a fully integrated infrastructure strategy
Drives data management standards to be at the heart of our software engineering discipline
Builds out our Firmwide Data Management (FDM) Technology Architecture with the goal of increasing the quality, output and efficiency of our software engineering, as well as leveraging innovation in the technology industry.

The D3 developer will be joining the BI and visualization team of the Global Technology Engineering & Architecture group.
The D3 developer will be responsible for creating web applications using the latest JavaScript frameworks (Angular, REACT, bootstrap, etc.) and leveraging the D3 library for visualizations. The first application will focus on data lineage at JPMC using the Force Layout nodal framework (connecting to a Graph database).
Other projects will include creating custom D3 objects to integrate with 3rd party visualization tools like Qlik Sense and Tableau.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in D3, and specifically Force Layout. As such, the candidate will be expected to build prototypes highlighting a variety of techniques and approaches to guide stakeholders through various user stories.
The candidate will also have broad web development experience with an emphasis UX and design.

Responsibilities
Gather and analyze requirements to design and deploy data visualizations web applications
Create/update JIRA stories and epics to track development efforts
Build quick prototypes and demo to team members and managers
Provide production support once applications are deployed
Coach junior colleagues in UX and visualization best practices
Stay abreast of new technologies for web development
Coordinate with application developers, managers and customer application experts to ensure that required features and modifications are included in the appropriate releases to support cross-product features and to communicate architectural designs and standards
Work with third party vendors to develop and/or integrate their applications into company products; ensures that applications are in accordance with company product standards and guidelines
Provide input to project planning, estimation, budget, resource, and technology planning

Qualifications
10+ years experience in web development
Extensive knowledge of D3 and Force Layout
Experience with Graph databases and RDF triplestores preferred
Must have strong knowledge of SDLC and comfortable with Agile
Knowledge of data governance principles is a plus
Knowledge of BI and dimensional data modeling is a plus
Strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, be self-motivated, and be able to work in stressful situations with changing priorities
Experience with real-time analytics environments is a plus
Working knowledge of the Banking and Financial industry a plus
